Why TPU and PC Together

The two materials do different jobs. TPU is soft and absorbs the energy of a drop, which is why it is used on the edges where the phone lands. PC is rigid and scratch-resistant, which is what you want across the back where a single-material soft case would sag, cloud and pick up marks. A case using both gets the useful half of each.
