Wi-Fi Repeater HOCO HI35 - 4 Antennas, 300Mbps Range Extender

$17.00

The HOCO HI35 is a plug-in Wi-Fi repeater that picks up your existing router's signal and rebroadcasts it into the parts of the house it doesn't reach. Four external antennas and a Broadcom 5357 chipset push coverage up to 100 metres in open space, and a built-in LAN port lets you run a wired connection to a TV, console or desktop in the same room. It plugs straight into a wall socket - no shelf space, no extra power brick.

Features

  • Four external antennas for wider, more even coverage than single-antenna plug-in extenders
  • Up to 300Mbps on 2.4GHz - enough for browsing, streaming, video calls and general home use
  • 100m transmission range in open space with no obstructions
  • Broadcom 5357 chipset for stable handling of multiple connected devices
  • WLAN/LAN port (10/100Mbps) - use it as a repeater or wire a device directly into it
  • WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 encryption - current security standards, not just legacy WPA2
  • Wall-mounted design that plugs directly into the socket, with a 1m network cable in the box
  • Low 5W draw, so it costs almost nothing to leave running

Is a Repeater the Right Fix?

A repeater helps when your router works fine but the signal dies in a back bedroom, on a balcony, or one floor up. It rebroadcasts what it receives, so it can only extend the signal - it cannot make a slow connection faster. Place it roughly halfway between the router and the dead spot, where it still gets a solid signal to work with. If your internet is slow everywhere, the problem is the line or the router, not coverage, and a repeater will not help.

This is a Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) device on the 2.4GHz band. That band travels further through walls than 5GHz, which is what you want from an extender, but it caps at 300Mbps. For extending coverage to normal household use it is more than enough; if you need full-speed gigabit in the far room, run a cable instead.
