Choose Your Softbox

The diffuser is what decides the character of your light, so pick the one that matches what you shoot:

• Lantern softbox — a white spherical diffuser that throws soft 360° light in every direction. Best for filling a whole room, beauty and makeup content, and flattering skin tones with almost no visible shadow edge. Choose this if you want light everywhere and the softest possible look.
• Grid softbox — a square softbox with a honeycomb grid over the front. The grid narrows the beam and stops light spilling sideways, so you get directional light with defined shadows and a controlled falloff. Choose this for product photography, dramatic portraits, and any setup where you want to light the subject without lighting the whole background.
